Dr Helen Czerski
Dr Helen Czerski, bubble physicist, oceanographer and earth-scientist, is currently on our screens as part of the BBC2's "Operation Iceberg" and Dara O Briain's Science Club. In 2013 she will be part of the ScienceGRRL calendar showcasing the real face of female scientists. Whatever it is that she's doing she is proud to know who made her pants.
Helen says:-
My WhoMadeYour pants have been with me everywhere. I've worn them while filming on icebergs, being glared at by penguins, playing badminton for my local team, cooking dinner and also while doing nothing very much. They're super-comfortable and it's nice to know that I've got a bit of lace on underneath. While on a recent expedition in Greenland, I wondered whether I should feel slightly self-conscious about hanging up lacy knickers on the outside of my tent to dry after doing my laundry in a bucket with lake water. And then I decided that the (almost all male) camp would just have to deal with it. My knickers, for me, so there. I've also bought them for my sister and other female friends, and the love for them is universal!
And along with that, this company is something amazing for all women. They're not complaining about the status of women in society, they're just getting on with showing what we have to contribute to society. I'm proud to know who made my pants.
Helen shows off her pants (yes, to Marcus Brigstocke) during a filming break backstage at Dara O Briain's Science Club.
