How many do YOU know?

Last week I had the great pleasure of meeting Laura Porter, one of our Women Who Know, for the first time. We sat on Festival Terrace at the Royal Festival Hall and talked about Pants and life and women and London and red buses and black cabs, and then Laura mentioned that there was an exhibition on, for free, in the Hall. Called Adopting Britain, it's about what coming to Britain has been like for tens, hundreds of people.

It was incredibly moving and - as life is - in parts sad, tragic, beautiful and funny. There were some thought provoking exercises, including one that asked visitors to write on a circle of card their family experiences of migration. And one was this Life in the UK test - how many can you answer?

It was lovely to meet you last week!
This test was much harder than expected. Very well chosen selection of questions for people to try to raise awareness of the silliness we expect non-English to learn when we don’t know ourselves.
