More on Limited edition Pants - name your price, with a twist

You may have seen on social media that we have been working with elastic and we have a very limited number of Hannah Pants available. Made from ends of rolls, there are just 31 pairs in 2 colours.



After our recent GrapePhene trail we, want to try another new way of offering Limited Edition Pants. We want to try and make these available to lots of people, with lots of different spending power - at the same time as making sure we bring in that cash to pay our wages.

Here's our idea.

We have 31 pairs of Hannah Pants and we'd sell them for £10 each. This means selling them all should make us £310 which is a fat chunk of a weeks wage bill for our team


You make an offer - for any price from £1 up - for one pair of Hannah Pants.


We accept offers from Friday to Sunday nigh and then on Monday, we open up all the offers and then randomly select 31 offers, one for each pair of Pants.

We tot up the value and if those 31 offers would generate us £310 cash, we accept them all.

If they don't reach £310, we ignore the first offer we randomly selected, add a new one, and repeat until the value reaches £310

As soon as we have 31 orders that total a value of £310 we accept all those offers.

This means that if there's one generous person (or two, or ten) out there who offers us £25 (or £100. or £squillion) for one pair, there is strong chance that a bunch of £1 offers will be accepted. If everyone offers under £10 then we have to think of something else.

    Jacqui, that’s a great question and one we hadn’t thought of.

    Doing it this way, we can’t prevent people from entering more than once but given that the aim of this is in part to make sure as many different people as possible get hold of Pants, and I think we would probably look at discarding a second offer from someone if two of their offers turned up in the first 31 qualifying offers picked.

    This sounds good, I would definitely give it a go. I liked the lucky draw excitement of the grapephene so adding in the name your price element makes it all the more interesting for people to give it a try.
